This is an opportunity to put problems in perspective, to refresh, to clarify the thinking and to allow the mind to grapple with new ideas in a calm, relaxed atmosphere.

We deliberately do not attempt to ape our hotel competitors or conference venues by having every latest piece of audio-visual kit in air-conditioned modern rooms. We offer an experience that is removed from the blandness of the usual venues. Instead, business visitors to Cholwell Hall can expect to find inspiration within the stately comfort of a classic country house. Experience has shown that holding training sessions or meetings in the lounge, or the dining room, or even in the acre of grounds with the right weather will bring out the best in the participants. The architecture, the period features and the elegant decor will help to create a mood for your meetings in which enthusiasm will abound and positive, creative interactions will thrive.

Of course we can assist with equipment such as conference-style chairs, projector screen and so forth, but as every group is different, please make your enquiry through our Booking Secretary and specify what you require. With our own equipment or by hiring-in we can meet the needs of most groups.

An integral part of the experience of the residential business visitor is the sleep quality and the comforts when the formal sessions have ended. Our beds are really comfortable. They are also clean, and with good quality duvets and bed-linen. The bedrooms are individually decorated and many of them are enormous. There are 10 bedrooms all under the one roof, providing 21 beds, served by 6 bathrooms.

There is a large ground floor kitchen, plus a further small kitchen and breakfast area on the second floor. Plenty of opportunity for ad-hoc socialising and catching up in smaller groups. Many groups enjoy the challenge of catering for themselves, as this creates opportunity for team-building and seeing each other cope in different situations! It is not necessary to struggle however, as we have a list of caterers familiar with the house who will listen to your needs and provide the bespoke service that you specify.

Elsewhere in the house you will find amusement for groups in the form of table tennis, table football, and karaoke. The grounds provide opportunity for a wide range of activity, and previous groups have done clay shooting, bungee run, gladiator tournaments, and presumably a host of things that we didn’t actually find out about. There are good local pubs for food, and groups often go into Bath which is only half and hour away. Taxis/ minibuses can be found on a list of local contacts that we can supply.
